Problem Solving
Situation: I was in charge to follow up on the brochure development for a real estate project. I finalized the first stage of the brochure with the advertising agency and made sure it was sent to be printed. The printing house usually needs 4 to 5 business days to complete the job and unfortunately the pre-launching event, where the brochure will be distributed was exactly after 5 days. I received a call from the printing house telling me that there was a low resolution image in the digital file sent by the advertising agency. By the time I received the call (it was end of day) the team in charge of the project was in a meeting outside the agency. What should I do?
Action:
-
Contacted a freelance graphic Designer
-
Found a high resolution replacement for the image on a photo stock website
-
Worked closely with the graphic designer to finalize the file
-
Booked the driver to wait until I finish
-
Made sure the final artwork is ready for production
-
Sent the artwork to the Printing house in the same day
Result:
-
Brochure printed and distributed on time
-
Event was a success
-
Received Positive Feedback from the CMO
Time Management
Situation: Once I was faced with 2 deadlines on the same day for two key projects I was working on.-The first was preparing the artwork for an event.-The second was a media tender where I had to coordinate, gather and organize all the info from all departments. What was my Reaction? Panic Attack?
Action:
-
Listed the tasks needed to execute in order to complete the 2 jobs in the pipeline
-
Prioritized the tasks according to importance
-
Focused and coordinated with the team working on these project in a pro-active way
-
Delegated tasks, set deadlines and followed up with agency and colleagues.
Result:
-
2 jobs executed perfectly and delivered on time
-
Artwork was very effective during the event
-
Company won the tender
-
I was pleased with the outcome
